Daz unfinished

this is my latest drawing. Same friend that sits for me. I tried a new technique so it's a slower process for me, but I felt like posting so here it is so far. There's something horribly off about it though. I think it is entirely to do with the shading. Your thoughts, comments, opinions, constructive suggestions and the lot are always welcome.
